TPD Investigates Crash at West Tennessee Street and Blountstown Street

The motorcycle’s operator has passed away from their injuries, and the motorcycle’s passenger is still receiving treatment at a local hospital. No one was injured in the other involved car.
The preliminary investigation indicates both vehicles had solid green lights, and the car attempted to complete a left-hand turn from Tennessee Street onto Blountstown Street. The car turned in front of the oncoming motorcycle, causing the crash.
There are elements of this case which are still under investigation, and there is no more information to release at this time.

The Tallahassee Police Department is currently investigating a crash involving a motorcycle and vehicle colliding at the intersection of West Tennessee Street and Blountstown Street. The crash occurred just after 11:30am. Two individuals were on the motorcycle, and both have been transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.
Eastbound Tennessee Street is closed, and the public is asked to avoid the area.
Traffic Homicide Investigators have been called to the scene and have assumed the investigation. TPD is asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash, but did not speak with an officer on scene, or anyone with information about the crash to please call 850-891-4200 and ask to speak with the Traffic Homicide Unit. They may also remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 850-574-TIPS.
