SENT OF BEHALF OF ZAGSTER

Cambridge, Mass., December 4, 2017 — Pace, a new nationwide, dockless bike share service for cities and colleges, debuted today in Tallahassee, Fla. Powered by Zagster, the nation’s leading provider of modern, flexible bike share services, Pace features a first-of-its-kind dockless bike share model that blends predictability and convenience for riders while preserving order and safety for communities.

Tallahassee is the first in a wave of cities to embrace smarter, dockless bike sharing. Albuquerque, N.M., Rochester, N.Y., Knoxville, Tenn. and Huntsville, Ala. are also committed to join Pace, with each launch scheduled before April 1, 2018.

“As we begin to usher in a new era of urban mobility with Pace, Tallahassee is leading the charge with a lively cycling community, and now, a dynamic, new dockless bike share service,” said Timothy Ericson, founder and CEO of Zagster. “Tallahassee has been a tremendous partner and a pioneer in embracing a modern bike share service that we are confident will become the standard for cities and colleges across America.”

With its inaugural launch, Pace will make 300 shared bikes available in Tallahassee. Riders can rent and return bikes from any of Pace’s 50 dedicated bike parking racks, or from any of the hundreds of public bike racks available throughout the city. This mix of intelligently placed bike share hubs, plus the freedom of being able to lock Pace bikes to public racks, enables true point-to-point travel while ensuring riders can reliably add bike sharing to their daily transit mix.

“We are very proud that the City of Tallahassee has become a true multi-modal community, including being named one of the most bike-friendly cities in the nation,” said Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum. “The new bike share service is another step toward ensuring that all of our residents have easy access to bicycles for commuting, exercising, and touring our great city.”

To join Pace, riders simply download the free Pace Bike Share app, available in the App Store or Google Play. Riders find available bikes and parking locations in the app, and can unlock bikes at the touch of a button to get rolling in seconds. There is no membership fee to join Pace, and rides start at just $1 per half hour.

To celebrate the launch, all rides will be free through Wednesday, December 6.
