TPD FSU Student Battery Investigation Update

On April 18, 2018, the Tallahassee Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit began investigating the battery of a Florida State University student, Nicholas Mauricio. Investigators intensely employed hours of investigative research, and conducted interviews with the assistance of the Florida State University Police Department. After reviewing all of the evidence and in consultation of the State Attorney’s Office, investigators were able to develop probable cause for the following subject connected in the injury of Nicholas Mauricio:

The arrest warrants were signed by the Honorable Judge J. Layne Smith on August 30, 2018, for the charge of “Battery” Pursuant to Florida Statute 784.03(1)(A)(1), and “Crimes Against Person Culpable Negligence Inflict Harm” Pursuant to Florida Statute 784.05(2).
