Tallahassee Police Respond to Bank Robbery

Shortly after 9 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 4, the Tallahassee Police Department responded to a bank robbery at the Capital City Bank, located 1456 Capital Circle Northwest.
The preliminary investigation revealed the suspect entered the business and demanded an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency from the employees. The suspect then fled the location on foot but is believed to have gotten into a nearby vehicle. The suspect vehicle was described as a silver Volkswagen Atlas.
Investigators with TPD’s Violent Crimes Unit are working diligently to obtain more information pertaining to this incident.
At this time, no suspects are in custody.
Investigators ask anyone who may have witnessed the incident, but did not speak with an officer on scene, or anyone with information about the robbery to please call TPD at 850-891-4200. They may also remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 850-574-TIPS.
