Tallahassee Fire Department Responds to Residential Structure Fire

On Saturday, Nov. 6, at 12:39 a.m., the Tallahassee Fire Department (TFD) was dispatched to a two-story residential structure fire in the 4000 block of Old Bainbridge Road. The homeowner returned home and found the home full of smoke and called 911.
TFD crews arrived on scene in less than four minutes and found smoke coming from the home. An interior attack was performed, and the fire was quickly extinguished.
There were no reported injuries. The fire caused an estimated $20,000 in damages and was electrical in nature. Leon County Sheriff’s Office and Leon County EMS assisted on scene. The American Red Cross was contacted to assist the residents.
Smoke alarms can provide the early warning necessary to escape a deadly fire. TFD will provide two residential smoke alarms at no cost to homeowners who are either physically or financially unable to purchase or install their own smoke alarms.
