Stormwater Improvements Continue in Killearn
Closure of Shamrock Street North Begins June 2
May 22, 2014
As part of ongoing stormwater improvements in the Killearn area, Shamrock Street North will be closed between Tree Harbour Way and Kenmare Court starting June 2. It will re-open August 16, weather permitting.
The primary purpose of this project is to alleviate property and street flooding along Shamrock Street North. New stormdrain pipes and inlets will be installed, and the quality of stormwater entering Lake Killarney will be improved.
Detours around the closure will be clearly marked. Traffic will be directed to Shannon Lakes Drive and a portion of McLaughlin Drive. Access will be maintained for local residents within the closure zone. The road closure has been scheduled during Leon County Public Schools’ summer break to minimize the traffic impacts as much as possible. The community’s patience and cooperation is appreciated as crews work to complete this improvement.
Construction will take place from sunrise to sunset and will include weekend work.
