Community Budget Workshops
If you would like to be involved in the development of the City of Tallahassee's 2014 budget, here's your chance! Please join us for any one of the three opportunities to participate in a round table discussion about the budget.
Citizen feedback is important to us as we strive to balance fiscal responsibility with the needs of the community. This is a great opportunity for citizens to provide input on their priorities.
This year, the City’s Office of Budget & Policy will host a fun and informative TALLY TWISTER exercise in which citizens will gain a better understanding of how City programs and services are funded. Staff will lead groups of citizens through an interactive discussion providing information on key services provided by the City departments including police, public works, planning, economic community development, growth management, parks, transit, electric utilities, and fire to name a few.
During the budget presentation, citizens will have an opportunity to provide instant feedback as part of an interactive live polling process.
To pre-register, please complete the form below or call (850) 891-8551. For planning purposes, we would appreciate if you and each member of your household planning to attend would take just a moment to pre-register. Pre-registration is not required to attend the event. However, it will help us to ensure that we are prepared for the number of citizens planning to participate. Individuals who pre-register will be provided a packet of budget information and also be entered into a drawing to win prizes from local businesses. You must be present at your selected workshop in order to win any prizes.
For more information on the workshop, or if you are in need of transportation, please contact Tzadda Bates by calling (850) 891-8551 or by email.
