Art Instructor Spotlight - "Artistry In Clay: Hand Built Pottery"
Joyce Marie Grenat became a potter at 13 and came to Tallahassee after graduating from the Virginia Commonwealth University. Her three interests include pottery, gardening and food. Grenat turned them into two businesses: From Our Garden Catering and Earthenlight Pottery (specializing in birdbaths, luminaries and planters). In her Senior Center class, the emphasis is on hand-building functional and sculptural pieces in clay. Bill Schnitzer recently donated a kick wheel so students are now introduced to wheel throwing as well. New students welcome! Class meets Mondays at 10:00am.
