A moving two-hour special that draws much needed attention to the unprecedented social, cultural, economic and personal revolution experienced by adult children as they transition into the primary caregiver role for their aging parents.

Caring for Our Parents Special Presentations

If you have a parent, loved one or someone who depends on you for care and support – this special presentation brings home the national PBS "Caring for Your Parents" broadcast.
Dr. Barry Jacobs, clinical psychologist, family therapist, and author of "The Emotional Survivor's Guide for Caregivers," shares his wisdom and personal experience regarding the profound impact of caregiving within families. Book-signing to follow both presentations. Optional small group discussions with Dr. Jacobs following lunch presentations are also available. Lunch and dinner will be served. Folk Concert Benefits Generational Causes

International Folk Artist Rik Palieri to Perform at Tallahassee Senior Center
Brehon Institute for Family Services, Catholic Charities of Northwest Florida, and Tallahassee Senior Center are collaborating on a benefit concert titled "Circle of Life" that will take place Tuesday, April 8, at 7:00pm at the Tallahassee Senior Center, 1400 N. Monroe St.
The concert will feature international folk singer Rik "Totem Pole" Palieri. Palieri sings and performs both original and traditional songs on a variety of folk instruments, including the banjo, 6- and 12-string guitars, mouth bow, Native American flute and a collection of rare Polish bagpipes. He has performed with Bruce Springsteen, Peete Seeger, U. Utah Phillips and many others at concerts across the United States and in Australia, Germany, Poland, Scotland, France and Spain.
During his three-day visit in Tallahassee, Palieri will also be performing at local schools and other venues. Â For a complete listing of his performance schedule, go to www.banjo.net.
