TSA Pre-Check Enrollment Center Extended at TLH
Appointments Now Available from Feb. 5-9
January 30, 2018
Tallahassee travelers are eager to participate in the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Pre-Check Program. Within the first few days, all appointments were booked for the weeklong temporary enrollment center at Tallahassee International Airport (TLH). Due to the ongoing demand for appointments, TLH worked closely with TSA to extend the enrollment center for another week.
TSA is now booking appointments from Monday, Feb. 5, through Friday, Feb. 9, for local travelers who wish to participate in the pre-check program. The enrollment center is located adjacent to the Visitor Information Center in the Ivan Munroe Terminal facility. Hours next week will remain the same, with the center staffed from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m. daily.
Applying for TSA Pre-Check via this center is easy. Applicants are encouraged to pre-enroll by simply clicking here. Choose “Start Application Now” then “Apply Now” and fill out steps 1 through 4. Once you arrive at step 4, type in your location as “Tallahassee, FL” and be sure to choose “Tallahassee International Airport”. Select “Next” at the bottom of the screen and select an appointment time (the first available shows, but you can use the drop down to choose a different date and/or time). Please note that to complete the application process, you will need to bring proof of identity and U.S. citizenship documentation (such as a U.S. Passport or birth certificate and a driver’s license). The application process is completed on site when fingerprints are captured and the $85 background check fee is collected. The fee can be paid by credit card, money order, company check or certified/cashier's check. Cash and personal checks are not accepted. After completing enrollment, successful applicants will receive a Known Traveler Number (KTN) via U.S. mail. The enrollee can enter the provided KTN in the “Known Traveler Number” field when booking airline reservations.
The TSA Pre-Check Program offers enrolled travelers greater ease and efficiency when processing through airport security checkpoints. If approved to use TSA Pre-Check lanes at participating airports, travelers are permitted to keep on their shoes, belts and light outerwear jackets and can also leave their laptops and liquid 3-1-1 bags inside their carry-on bags when they process through an airport security checkpoint. Wait times for TSA Pre-Check lanes are typically 5 minutes or less.
The Tallahassee International Airport is owned and operated by the City of Tallahassee. Daily flights include non-stop service to Atlanta, Charlotte, Dallas-Fort Worth, Miami, Orlando, Tampa Ft. Lauderdale and Washington, D.C. (effective February 15), with connections to worldwide destinations.
