Special Events
The Special Events unit sponsors numerous events throughout the year including an Easter Egg Hunt, 4th of July-Celebrate America and the Winter Festival, and facilitates the use of city facilities and services for events put on by community groups.

Park Permits
If you are interested in hosting an event, you can use our Park Permit Application (PDF) process. A Special Event Application (PDF) may also be required for larger events. Please allow 30-60 days for most permits to be processed. A hard copy of the park permit can be requested through our Special Events unit at 891-3887.

Summer Playground Program - Living it UP in 2010
The Summer Playground Program is geared towards every participant receiving an enriching experience through a variety of recreational games and activities. Participants will experience a summer full of lifetime memories.
Each week participants will enjoy fun filled activities and get a chance to interact with new friends. Our staff offers a variety of expertise and a willingness to help your child have the most fun possible. Included in this parent handbook is vital information that will assist you with many of your questions. Look for more information throughout the summer about Special Events as well other daily activities.
The Summer Playground Staff is eager to contribute to your child's enjoyment and enrichment this summer.

Showmobile Rental
In addition, the Special Events unit handles the rental of the Showmobile. The Showmobile's 32' by 14' Performance Stage is available for use within the city limits by individuals, families, organizations, and businesses when not in use by the City for special events and programs. Reservation requests must be made at least thirty (30) days in advance and are accepted on a first come, first served basis.
