KILLEARN COUNTRY CLUB REZONING / ORDINANCE NO. 22-Z-21
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA DESIGNATING AND INCLUDING ADDITIONAL TERRITORY LOCATED ON 264.68 ACRES LOCATED ALONG TRYON PASS BETWEEN SHAMROCK NORTH, SOUTH, EAST AND WEST AS AND IN CITY OF TALLAHASSEE OPEN SPACE OS FROM RESIDENTIAL PRESERVATION-1 RP-1 AND RESIDENTIAL PRESERVATION-2 RP-2 ON THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY OF TALLAHASSEE ADOPTED AND ESTABLISHED BY THE CITY COMMISSION; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
The proposed ordinance will be considered at the following public meetings:
1. City Commission Meeting on September 21, 2022, at 6:00 PM, City Commission Chambers, 2nd Floor, City Hall, 300 South Adams Street
Due to ongoing public health concerns, there will be three options for sharing public comment.
- In-person at the meetings; or
- Written via online submission at beth.perrine@talgov.com. Public comment can be submitted online until 9 p.m. on Monday, September 19. Comments submitted after this time (up to the time of the public hearings) will be accepted and included in the official record of the meetings; or
- Virtually via an online platform during the meetings. Citizens wishing to provide public comments virtually during the meetings must register before 9 p.m. on Monday, September 19 at Talgov.com/PCAgenda.
Face coverings are encouraged in indoor public spaces.
The Planning Commission will review this application at the public hearing listed above. Persons with standing may file a petition for quasi-judicial proceedings within 15 days (or 30 days for a decision on a Type C application) from the date the decisions were rendered (City); or within fifteen (15) calendar days of the date of publication of notice of the Planning Commission Public Hearing on the application in the Tallahassee Democrat (County); in accordance with the Bylaws of the Planning Commission and the City of Tallahassee and Leon County Land Development Codes. NOTICE: You are hereby notified in accordance with Chapter 286.0105, Florida Statutes, should you decide to appeal any decision made by the Commissions or take exception to any findings of fact with respect to any matter considered at the hearings referenced to above, you may need to ensure that verbatim record of the proceedings is made. Such a record shall include the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is based. Planning Commission will review these applications at the public hearing listed above. Persons with standing may file a petition for quasi-judicial proceedings within 15 days from the date the decisions is rendered in accordance with the Bylaws of the Planning Commission and the City of Tallahassee Land Development Code. Notice is hereby given that the Board of County Commissioners of Leon County, Florida will conduct a public hearing on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at 6:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as such matter may be heard, at the County Commission Chambers, 5th Floor, Leon County Courthouse, 301 South Monroe Street, Tallahassee, Florida, to consider adoption of the ordinance entitled to wit:

AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF LEON COUNTY, FLORIDA, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP AS ADOPTED IN LEON COUNTY ORDINANCE NO. 92-11 TO PROVIDE FOR A CHANGE IN ZONE CLASSIFICATION FROM THE RESIDENTIAL ACRE (RA) ZONING DISTRICT TO THE SINGLE AND TWO-FAMILY RESIDENTIAL (R-3) ZONING DISTRICT FOR 32.18 ACRES LOCATED AT 3762 CAPITAL CIRCLE NORTHWEST, JUST WEST OF THE INTERSECTION OF CAPITAL CIRCLE NW AND DEERRUN DRIVE; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTS; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
Leon County will be broadcasting the public hearing on Comcast channel 16, Prism channels 16 and 1016-HD, the Leon County Florida channel on Roku, and the County’s Facebook page, YouTube channel, and website.
All interested parties are invited to present their comments at the public hearing at the time and place set out above. Interested parties are also invited to submit written public comments until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, Monday, September 12, 2022, by visiting https://leoncountyfl.gov/PublicComments. All submitted written comments will be distributed to the Board prior to the public hearing and made a part of the record. Written comments received by the public will be posted on the County’s website in advance of the hearing. Persons needing assistance with submitting comments may contact County Administration via telephone at (850) 606-5300, or via email.
Written public comments received after the 8:00 p.m., Monday, September 12, 2022, deadline will be made available to the Board and entered into the record during the hearing, although the County cannot guarantee that Commissioners will have adequate time to review such comments prior to the hearing or that the comments will be posted on the County website prior to the hearing.
Interested parties may also provide virtual real-time public comments during the public hearing. Interested parties wishing to provide virtual real-time public comments must complete and submit the registration form provided at https://www2.leoncountyfl.gov/coadmin/agenda/ by 8:00 p.m. on Monday, September 12, 2022. Following submittal of the registration form, further instructions for participating in the meeting will be provided. Please note that Board of County Commissioners Policy 01-05, Article IX., Section E., entitled “Addressing the Commission”, and Article IX., Section F., entitled “Decorum”, shall remain in full force and effect.
Anyone wishing to appeal the action of the Board with regard to this matter will need a record of the proceedings and should ensure that a verbatim record is made. Such record should include the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based, pursuant to Section 286.0105, Florida Statutes.
