TPD Arrest Fleeing Driver (Updated 1/9/18)

TPD Burglary Unit Investigators have identified Patrick Collins as the driver of the stolen red Dodge Ram, that fled from officers on January 8, 2019. Collins was also involved in several burglaries while in the company of Desmond Banks. Collins was taken into custody by members of TPD's Community Oriented Policing Squad, Burglary Unit Investigators, and the United States Marshals Task Force. Collins was later taken to the Leon County Detention Facility for booking.

TPD Makes Burglary Arrest
At approximately 3:16 a.m. TPD responded to the 1300 block of Lemond Street reference two subjects committing auto burglaries. Upon officer's arrival, the suspects were observed driving away in a red Dodge Ram truck. When the officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the suspect vehicle intentionally struck the patrol car causing it to become inoperable. Due to this action officers began to pursue the vehicle to the parking lot of 3000 South Adams Street. Both the driver and passenger abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot from the complex. Officers also gave chase on foot and were able to only capture the passenger of the vehicle near the 400 block of Georgetown Drive. It was discovered the red Dodge Ram was stolen earlier in the night from the 1500 block of Stone Road and was associated with a subsequent auto burglary in the same area.
