TFD extinguishes fully involved house fire on Tallahassee’s south side
November 07, 2017
Tallahassee firefighters battled a south side fire last night that was fully involved upon their arrival. Firefighters responded to a structure fire at 431 Moonlit Trace just before 11:00pm Monday night. Fire crews were met with fire conditions so intense they changed their attack efforts to defensive because of the dangers within the unoccupied home. Once the fire was under control, fire crews conducted thorough searches to ensure no occupants were still within the structure. One occupant made it out of the home before firefighters arrival and was treated by LCEMS. The home was a total loss and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the State Fire Marshall’s Office. Damage to the home is estimated at $50,000. TFD was assisted on scene by TPD, LCEMS, and City Utilities.
