Law Enforcement Officer Memorial March and Ceremony
Downtown Traffic Impacts on April 24
April 20, 2017
On Monday, April 24, law enforcement agencies from across the state will join in Tallahassee for the annual Law Enforcement Officer Memorial March and Ceremony. This heartfelt event is held each year to honor officers who were lost in the line of duty during the previous year. Hundreds of Law Enforcement Officers along with friends and family members of fallen officers will march together along Monroe Street from Call Street to the steps of the Capitol where the ceremony will take place.
Monroe Street will be closed between Tennessee and Madison streets from 8:45-10 a.m. for this event. Northbound traffic will be detoured east or west on Gaines Street to pick up Duval Street or Calhoun Street to Apalachee Parkway. Southbound traffic will be detoured east or west on Tennessee Street to pick up either Bronough Street or Calhoun Street. Side streets along this stretch of Monroe Street, including Apalachee Parkway, will also be impacted during this time, as traffic will not be able to cross.
Call Street from Monroe Street to Bronough Street will be closed from 7:30-10 a.m., as will Park Avenue westbound from Monroe Street to Adams Street.
