Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Arrest

The Tallahassee Police Department made a drug trafficking arrest early this morning during a traffic stop on North Monroe Street near Sharer Road. An officer working patrol was proactively working in the area and conducted the stop based on his observation a headlight was inoperable. The driver was identified as Quinton R. White who had a license to carry a concealed weapon and was in possession of a firearm at the time of the traffic stop. Officers were able to search the vehicle as part of the investigation during the traffic stop. During the vehicle search, officers located 28 grams of cocaine, drug paraphernalia, and a .380 caliber handgun. The drugs and paraphernalia were seized as evidence and the gun was impounded at TPD for safekeeping.
Mr. White was placed under arrest and transported to the Leon County Receiving Facility for processing. The probable cause is attached to this release and has been redacted in accordance with Florida Statute 119.071(5)(a).
