Arrests Made for Missing Person/Murder
October 25, 2018
On July 19, 2018 the mother of Derek Levy Parks reported him as missing to TPD. This case was later assigned to TPD’s Special Victims Unit. During the course of the investigation, it was learned that Mr. Parks was last seen in the company two suspects, Jessie Daquan Price-Brown and Terrelle Lamar Price-Brown, on July 16, 2018. The investigation into the victim’s disappearance lead to the recovery of the victim’s vehicle in the State of Virginia, which was in possession of the suspects. Throughout the investigation, the suspects actively attempted to prevent the efforts of law enforcement in the recovery of the victim.
On September 13, 2018, information was obtained that lead to the recovery of the victim’s body in Americus, Georgia. Indications from the condition of the remains strongly suggested that the victim was murdered. The murder of the victim was later determined to have occurred in Tallahassee and the case was turned over to TPD’s Violent Crimes Unit. Through various interviews and evidence gathered, it was learned that the suspects in this case likely were caught stealing property from the victim and he was murdered as a result.
After consulting with the State Attorney’s Office, Jessie Daquan Price-Brown and Terrelle Lamar Price-Brown were charged with the murder of Derek Levy Parks.
TPD would like to thank all that assisted with this investigation that stretched over multiple jurisdictions. Jessie Daquan Price-Brown and Terrelle Lamar Price-Brown remain in the Fairfax Adult Detention Center located in Fairfax, Virginia.
