TPD Makes Arrest in Mission Road Homicide

Following a thorough investigation, TPD has made an arrest in the recent shooting that occurred on Mission Road.
On May 29, TPD responded to a 911 call in the 2600 block of Mission Road and found a deceased adult male victim, who had been shot.
TPD investigators developed Anthony McInnis, 24, as a suspect in the crime and obtained a search warrant for his residence, as well as for a DNA sample. McInnis was observed coming out of his apartment at 1417 Pullen Road. When officers attempted to make contact with him, he fled on foot but was subdued with a TASER. After being taken into custody, a stolen handgun was located in his pocket.
The search warrant revealed property that belonged to the victim inside the apartment. The crime appears to be related to narcotics trafficking.
McInnis was charged with Homicide, Robbery with a Firearm, and Resisting/Obstructing Arrest Without Violence. Additional charges are pending.
