TPD Officers Rendered Life-Saving Aid to Child Injured in Weekend Shooting

On Dec. 26, just after 8 p.m., the Tallahassee Police Department responded to a shooting in the 2500 block of Holton Street.
When officers arrived on scene, they located a 3-year-old who had been shot in the leg. The officers immediately rendered aid to the child and applied a tourniquet to the wound. The officers' training and their quick thinking greatly impacted the medical outcome for the child, who remains in stable condition.
The investigation revealed the shooting was a result of a dispute, and the child was nearby when the incident occurred.
At this time, this is an open and active investigation.
