AARP Tax Aide at the Senior Center

Medicare Assistance
Seniors may qualify to save money on their:
- Monthly Part D Drug Plan Premium;
- Co-pay for prescriptions;
- Monthly Medicare Part B Premium;
- Co-pay for Medicare services and visits; and
- Medicare deductibles.
If seniors need assistance applying for these money saving programs, they may talk to a trained counselor. The Tallahassee Senior Center offers this service the 2nd Tuesday of each month. Counseling sessions are available these Tuesdays from 9:00am - 2:00pm. Call 891-4043 to schedule an appointment.

TSC's Newest Class Kicks Off This Week
There is a new TALL class in town! TALL, an initiative in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce program - Leadership Tallahassee - brings together an actively engaged group of seniors with community leaders.
"By participating in interactive activities, members of the class find they are better equipped to continue to effect positive change and growth in the community," said Hella Spellman, TALL coordinator and assistant supervisor at TSC. Spellman also pointed out, "seniors enrich their own lives through lifelong learning." TALL class members assemble weekly for eight weeks to share varied life experiences and gain an understanding of how best to apply their unique skills to local needs.
Members of this year's class include: Ann Cleare, Lynne Corbett, Nancy Daws, Fred Forsythe, Carolyn Forsythe, Shirley Gooding-Butler, Karen Hill, Sue Johns, Barbara Judd, Ted Judd, Patsy McCall, Reid Moon, Suzanne Moon, Kathleen Petitte, Jane Quinton, and Gena Varn.

Resource Assistance Services Expanding!
In addition to Information and Referral Assistance, Legal Services, Tax Preparation, Counseling Services, and SHINE assistance, Tallahassee Senior Services is now offering Financial Counseling and Insurance Policy Assistance to seniors in our community.
The Florida Department of Financial Services will be at the Tallahassee Senior Center to help seniors with insurance policy and coverage questions. This includes, health, automobile, life, and homeowners insurance; workers compensation; and annuities. Sessions take place the first Wednesday of every month, 3:00 - 5:00pm.
Steve Halsell will be at the Senior Center to answer questions and provide one-on-one financial reviews, investment information, and retirement and estate planning. He is available for private appointments on the 3rd Wednesday of every month, 3:00 - 5:00pm.
There is no cost for the services, but appointments required. For more information or to schedule and appointment, call 891-4043.
New Programs
Acting Classes for Seniors
It's a new year - resolve to improve your health and have fun! Acting classes offer many opportunities to engage in healthy aging - social connections, creative exploration, and physical movement. Memorization or performing for others not required. The Tallahassee Little Theatre and Tallahassee Senior Center are partnering to provide this opportunity for seniors in the community. New "level one" class starts in January and will be held at the Tallahassee Little Theatre.Cost for the 8-week class is $75 for TSC Foundation members.
