As part of StarMetro's mission to improve transportation options in the City of Tallahassee, the City Commission has approved an Alternatives Analysis (AA) Study. This study will look at providing enhanced transit options (bus rapid transit, light rail, streetcar, etc.) in the downtown area. The study is anticipated to be completed by December 2014. Public meetings will be advertised and held throughout the process.
The AA will kick-off on June 24 with a meeting of the AA Steering Committee. The Steering Committee is comprised of staff and other members of the community. The goal of the Steering Committee is to oversee the study process and to provide policy direction. This first meeting will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Tallahassee Room of City Hall, located at 300 S. Adams Street. The purpose of this first meeting is to explain the AA process and to explain the different transit modes the AA will be evaluating.
