TPD Responds to Gunshot Victims

The Tallahassee Police Department responded to a call for assistance in the 1400 Block of Alabama Street at approximately 4:00pm on October 1st, 2013. Upon arrival, TPD Patrol Officers located a male who was bleeding from an apparent gunshot wound. TFD and EMS also arrived on scene and the victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment. At approximately the same time, the Tallahassee Memorial Hospital called TPD to report another male victim, suffering from gunshot wounds, had self-transported himself to the hospital. After consulting with the State Attorney's Office, investigators arrested LaPadre Sharpe for Attempted First Degree Murder.
About 30 minutes later, TPD received another call for injured persons at 2525 Texas Street. TPD Patrol Officers responded to the area and located 3 male victims all suffering from gunshot wounds. The 3 injured men were treated on-scene and then transported to a local hospital for treatment. One of the males later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
TPD's Criminal Investigation Division, along with Forensic Technicians responded to the scene and assumed the primary role in the homicide investigation. TPD's investigators have no indication the two incidents are related to each other.
Homicide Investigators are working diligently to interview all involved and process the evidence located on scene. TPD's Criminal Investigation Division is pursuing all leads and asks community members with information about this case to call TPD at 891-4200 or the Big Bend Crime Stoppers at 574-TIPS.
