Police Investigate High School Student's Death
January 15, 2014
The Tallahassee Police Department is currently investigating the sudden death of a Godby High School student who was at the school when he suddenly became ill. The student was reportedly on the schools outside track when he became sick and was transported to a local hospital by ambulance, where he passed away. Because of the students young age, TPD was called to the hospital and has begun an investigation.
Investigators from TPD's Homicide and Forensic Unit have assumed the investigation and are interviewing all witnesses and processing the scene. TPD's Victim Advocates have also responded to the scene to support the family and friends of the student. The Victim Advocates will be available for anyone who would like their services. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call TPD at (850) 606-5800.
"Our hearts and prayers go out to the family of this tragic event. I can assure the community that we will investigate this case to the fullest extent to determine what has occurred." said TPD Chief Michael J. DeLeo.
