The Tallahassee Police Department will host two DUI checkpoints tonight. The first operation will be held in the 200 block of Chapel Drive from 10:15 p.m. - 11:15 p.m. The second operation will be held in the 300 block of Williams Street from 12:15 a.m. - 1:15 a.m. Both checkpoints will be well marked by police vehicles and signage.
The purpose of these DUI checkpoints is to save lives by detecting drivers who are impaired beyond the ability to operate a motor vehicle safely. Other traffic violations observed in the checkpoint will also be enforced. These operations are designed to have a minimal impact on traffic.
Buckle up, Drive safe, and Drive sober.
Officer Dave Northway, Tallahassee Police Department, (850) 891-4255
