Driver Information System

Some functions of the Driver Information System are temporarily unavailable due to a project upgrade. We apologize for the inconvenience, and hope the improvements to the service allow for a better user experience.

Welcome to the Driver Information System

So you are about to head home after a long day of work, and you think that your favorite roadway may be relatively free of traffic congestion. Well, what if you are wrong, and it takes twice as long to get home than on the alternate route? There is no need to gamble. The Tallahassee Driver Information System is a feature of our state-of-the-art Tallahassee Advanced Traffic Management System (TATMS). The Traffic Engineering Division is proud to bring you this system to aid in your decision making.

Main Features

Moving I-10 Forward
View various cameras along I-10 to check on the current traffic conditions during construction.

Camera Location Map
The City of Tallahassee currently has 65 intersection cameras in operation, and you can see what our traffic engineers see with just a click of the mouse. Simply click on a camera icon to take you directly to a still shot from that intersection's camera.

Congestion Map
A camera shot will only tell you so much about the current traffic conditions, but this handy congestion map will show you where the heaviest problems are occurring. Find the problem areas before you head out.

Other TATMS Options -
Cameras Camera List
This is a full text listing of each camera. Click this link if you know what intersection you want to view, and do not need to see the visual representation on a map.
Incident Traffic Incident List
View a listing of traffic incidents and their impact on your travel routes.
Work Zone Traffic Maintenance List
A textual listing of roadway maintenance projects.
Sign/Radio List Sign List
You know those signs with those cute flashing messages on them?  Find out what they say before you have to scan them while watching where you are going.

Additional Information

Key FAQs about Traffic
Answers to common traffic questions from the Institute of Transpotation Engineers (reproduced with permission).

Special Feature: "What's Wrong With This Light?"
A brief introduction to light cycles and why they act the way they do...much to the chagrin of drivers who fail to follow intersection rules.

I-Maps Traffic Center
A technical map of traffic lights and intersection traffic, with peak hour statistics (for the more advanced researcher).
