Applications for the GOOD NEIGHBOR PROGRAM will be taken beginning December 15, 2008.

The City of Tallahassee Utilities is committed to helping those in need.
The GOOD NEIGHBOR PROGRAM is designed to help the following groups of customers during the peak heating and cooling months of the year when the need is greatest:
1) Low-income senior citizens age
65 and older,
2) Low-income families with children under
the age of five, and
3) Disabled persons living independently.
This program will provide meaningful assistance both immediately and long-term to our customers most in need.
GOOD NEIGHBOR PROGRAM
1) Bill Assistance
25% credit to electric service during the following seasons (as long as funds are available)
- Season 1 - December 2008 - March 2009
- Season 2 - June 2009 - September 2009
- Season 3 - December 2009 - March 2010
2) Weatherization and Efficiency Measures
- Priority Energy Audit
- Free Ceiling Insulation (up to $500)
- Heating and Cooling System Repair (up to $500)
- Duct Repair, Coil Cleaning and Refrigerant Leak
- Hot Water Leak Repair (up to $500)
Customers wishing to take part in the GOOD NEIGHBOR PROGRAM can contact the Capital Area Community Action Agency for qualification. Qualified customers will receive a credit beginning on their next monthly statement, and a free home energy audit. Weatherization measures will be identified and arrangements will be made for needed repairs.
