TPD Arrests Felon Firing Gun at Local Hotel

At approximately 9:49 p.m. last night, TPD officers responded to a call at 522 Silver Slipper Lane, the Suburban Extended Stay Hotel, regarding gunshots being fired. Officers were informed by witnesses there was a male near one of the hotel rooms who had a gun and fired the shots. As officers approached the male, he ran from the area with a handgun visible in his pants pocket. After a short foot pursuit, Andrew Saylor was arrested near the hotel and found to have been intoxicated, in possession of a loaded 9mm handgun and in possession of a small amount of marijuana. Further investigation by officers on scene revealed a shot had been fired at the hotel near rooms which were occupied by hotel guests. Thankfully, there was no report of injury by officers or bystanders during the incident.
Andrew Saylor was placed under arrest and first taken to a local hospital due to his level of intoxication. Once he was medically cleared he was taken to the Leon County Detention Facility for processing.

Possession of a Firearm by Convicted Felon pursuant to Florida Statute 790.23(i)(e).
Fire Weapon into a Dwelling pursuant to Florida Statute 790.19.
Destroying/Tampering with Evidence pursuant to Florida Statute 918.13.
Possession of a Firearm while Intoxicated pursuant to Florida Statute 790.151.
Resisting an Officer without Violence pursuant to Florida Statute 843.02
Possession of Marijuana not more than 20 grams pursuant to Florida Statute 893.13(6)(b).
