TPD Makes Arrest for Firearm and Drugs

The Tallahassee Police Department’s Violent Crimes Response Team (VCRT) was conducting proactive patrols on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 to address citizen complaints of criminal activity in the Bond Community. Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle around 5:40 p.m. for a traffic violation near Holton Street and Okaloosa Street. During the officers' contact with the driver, they located a loaded 9mm handgun, marijuana and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle.
Ja’Kobe Thompson was arrested on charges related to the gun and drugs. Mr. Thompson was transported to the Leon County Detention Facility for processing.

Carrying a Concealed Firearm While Unlicensed pursuant to Florida Statute 790.01.
Possession of Cannabis less than 20 grams pursuant to Florida Statute 893.13(6)(b).
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia pursuant to Florida Statute 893.147.
