PRNA Hosts Ernie Sims Youth Football and Cheer Clinic
July 11, 2019
This Friday, July 12, the City of Tallahassee's Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Affairs Department will host the 12th annual Ernie Sims Youth Football and Cheer Clinic. The free clinic will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Tom Brown Park Softball Complex.
As a former City of Tallahassee youth football program participant, Sims holds strong ties to the Tallahassee area. Since his youth football days playing for the Gaither team, Sims has had great success on and off the field.
Sims' clinics provide hands on instruction for more than 350 youngsters, who learn important tips and strategies to improve their football skills and cheerleading abilities. Participants also learn some important character skills, like dedication and perseverance, which can help in every aspect of their lives.
In order to ensure a positive experience, clinic participants should come prepared by wearing shorts, t-shirts and football cleats, training shoes or running shoes. The clinics are free for all registered youth in elementary and middle school, and t-shirts will be given to the first 350 registered kids. Registration will take place on-site the day of the clinic at the Tom Brown Park Softball Complex at from 8-9 a.m.
