Take the Trolley!
Enjoy free rides to local flavors
February 20, 2017
There are countless amenities sprinkled throughout each unique area that surrounds downtown. To help connect people with these vibrant places, the City of Tallahassee invites everyone to #TakeTheT – as in trolley.
The free trolley service, which officially launched today, is available during lunch hours on weekdays (Monday through Friday) from 11:45 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. and during evening hours on Fridays and Saturdays from 4:30 p.m. to 1 a.m.
“The new trolley service connects Midtown, Cascades Park and College Town with the heart of downtown Tallahassee, making it easy to explore new dining and activity options," Commissioner Nancy Miller said. "Residents, visitors and those working downtown can expand their choices for what to do at lunchtime or on Friday and Saturday evenings, and you can take the T just for fun!”
During the lunchtime service, individual routes will serve Midtown, College Town and Cascades Park. All three routes connect in downtown. The night route will combine the three district routes into one large route. Trolley stops will be marked with custom route signs featuring a pop-art T.
“Leading up to today’s trolley kick-off, the response from everyone has been extraordinary,” said Paige Carter-Smith, CEO of the Downtown Improvement Authority. “This new service is a welcomed amenity that will enhance the connectivity between downtown and the surrounding districts during peak times. I’m encouraging everyone to take the T and explore many of the wonderful things that Tallahassee has to offer.”
To help riders plan their outing, a real-time map is available at Talgov.com/Trolley. Trolleys will be displayed on the map in their current location, and the location of the trolleys will be refreshed every 30 seconds.
In addition to a scenic ride, passengers will enjoy free Wi-Fi onboard the trolleys.
