Weeklong Closure on Bronough Street Starts Sunday
September 21, 2017
Next week, the intersection of Bronough Street and 4th Avenue will close while improvements to the City of Tallahassee's stormwater and sanitary sewer system are completed. The closure will be in effect from 7 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 24, through 5 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 2, pending no inclement weather.
A detour will be in place to direct motorists safely around the closure. Southbound traffic on Bronough Street will be reduced to one lane beginning at 7th Avenue. Traffic will then be detoured at 7th Avenue and 5th Avenue to Monroe Street. Drivers can then use Brevard Street to reconnect with Bronough Street.
Eastbound traffic on 4th Avenue will be detoured south on North Macomb Street then east on Brevard Street, where they can choose to use Duval or Monroe streets to resume travel.
Westbound traffic on 4th Avenue will be detoured north at Duval Street, west on 7th Avenue and south on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. to reconnect with 4th Avenue.
