Late-night Weekend Shootings Lead to Investigations

The Tallahassee Police Department is investigating two late-night shootings that occurred over the weekend along West Tennessee Street.
On Saturday, June 20, at approximately 1 a.m., officers received a call for service and responded to the area of West Tennessee Street and Appleyard Drive to investigate the sounds of gunfire in the area. A short time later, the juvenile male victim arrived at a local hospital suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. The victim, who had been riding in a vehicle when he was shot, confirmed the location of the crime.
The following night, Sunday, June 21, at approximately 2 a.m., officers received a call for service and responded to a parking lot in the 2600 block of West Tennessee Street where an adult male was suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The crimes do not appear to be related to each other.
Tallahassee Police Investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed either incident, but did not speak with an officer on scene, or anyone with information about the shootings to please call 850-891-4200. They may also remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 850-574-TIPS.
