TFD Responds to Structure Fire

Today, Oct. 8, at 12:56 p.m., the Tallahassee Fire Department (TFD) was dispatched to Van Buren Street for a residential structure fire. Crews found fire and smoke showing upon arrival.
The fire started on the front porch and extended into the attic. Crews quickly made an interior attack on the fire and stopped it from spreading any farther. All occupants escaped without injury. The damage was estimated at $60,000. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
TFD was assisted on scene by the Tallahassee Police Department and Leon County EMS.
