TPD Responds to Home Invasion Robbery and Shooting

Around 5:15 p.m., TPD responded to the report of a Home Invasion Robbery in the 2600 block of Vista Rise.
The victim and his girlfriend were in their residence when the suspect knocked on the door. After engaging in conversation with the male victim, the suspect forced his way in. A physical fight ensued, and the suspect pulled out a gun. During the struggle, there were several gunshots and both the suspect and victim sustained non-life-threatening wounds. The suspect fled the scene.
Officers arrived and rendered medical assistance to the wounded victim.
A short time later, the suspect arrived at a local hospital seeking medical attention. He was detained and the investigation is continuing. There are currently no parties unaccounted for from this incident.
The name of the arrestee and charges will be released at a later time.
