Spoonful of Thanks for Senior Center Volunteers
July 10, 2014
Ice Cream Social Returns on July 14 - As the summer heats up, the Senior Center is cooling down with its annual summer tradition – the old fashioned Ice Cream Social! This event is a light-hearted, fun and delicious way to recognize more than 400 Tallahassee Senior Center volunteers. This chill shindig is also open to the public. Everyone is invited to enjoy the tasty treats for free from 12:30-2 p.m. on Monday, July 14.
During the event, Steve Sternberg will provide live entertainment. This is a great chance to meet your neighbors and friends and say thank you to the many volunteers who make TSC programs incredibly interesting.
A wide assortment of flavors and toppings will be available from traditional vanilla and chocolate to creamy caramel and rainbow sprinkles. Everyone is sure to find something they like.
While you’re enjoying the Ice Cream Social, get the inside scoop on the many classes and activities the Senior Center has to offer. From yoga to computers to foreign languages, there’s something new and exciting to attend each day at the Senior Center. There are also a slew of special events, like lectures, group trips and concerts. If you’re looking for something more low-key, there are opportunities for that as well, like card games and movies.
This event is sponsored by the Tallahassee Senior Center and Foundation, Aaron’s Attic, Cherry Laurel, Desloge Home Oxygen and Medical Equipment, Hopewell, Jonathan Walker LMT, WellCare Health Plans Inc. and Spa Concepts Inc.
