TPD to host "Pack the Patrol Car" Event at Target
July 30, 2018
The Tallahassee Police Department is hosting the annual "Pack the Patrol Car" event this Saturday, August 4, 2018 between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm. TPD will be placing a patrol car in front of Target at 2120 Apalachee Parkway. We are asking the community to help us pack the patrol car with school supplies such as backpacks, paper, pencils, pens, notebooks, folders, protractors, and other necessary school supplies. After sorting through the donated school supplies, the backpacks will be filled and provided to students in need. Our goal is to collect enough school supplies to provide at least 200 students with the necessary materials to start the school year.
TPD has several community partners helping with this event. NOBLE (National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives) and Tallahassee Kiwanis Club will provide Child ID kits for the kids. Leon County EMS will be teaching bike safety, the Florida Highway Patrol will be providing educational instruction on safe driving and the Tallahassee Fire Department will be providing education materials on fire safety as well as bringing a special guest to visit with everyone donating supplies.
Anyone who would like to donate school supplies but cannot be there on Saturday to help pack the patrol car can bring donations to the Tallahassee Police Department located at 234 East Seventh Avenue. TPD will be accepting donations until August 10, 2018. Please contact the Community Relations Unit at 850-891-4251 with any questions regarding "Pack the Patrol Car".
