Traffic Crash at Paul Dirac, W. Orange

Tallahassee Police Department Patrol Officers and emergency medical personnel were called to a single car crash this morning at approximately 3:45am near the intersection of Paul Dirac Drive and West Orange Avenue. Once at the crash, they located a driver and passenger of a 2015 blue Ford Focus. The driver reported he was uninjured and was detained for a period of time but was released once the scene was cleared. Despite all life-saving measures, the passenger was unable to be revived at the scene and was pronounced dead.
The Tallahassee Police Traffic Homicide Unit was immediately summoned and a specially trained investigator was called to the scene to assume the investigation. A TPD Victim Advocate was also called to the accident and has been working with the passengers family members to assist them in their time of need. Tallahassee Police Chief Michael J. DeLeo expressed his deepest sympathies to the family of Jennifer Jones as they try to cope with this terrible tragedy.
As the investigation continues, TPD investigators are analyzing all evidence and reviewing witness statements. They are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash but did not speak with an officer on scene to please call (850) 891-4200 or if they wish to remain anonymous (850) 574-TIPS.
