TPD Stops Intent to Sell
Make Arrest on Drug Charges

On Tuesday, December 13, 2017 at 10:42 p.m., Tallahassee Police Officers were conducting proactive patrol to prevent criminal activity in the 2500 block of Holton Street. Officers made contact with the occupants of a suspicious vehicle they observed in the parking lot and developed probable cause to conduct a search of the vehicle. During the investigation, TPD officers discovered cannabis and the synthetic drug A-PVP (alpha-Pyrrolidinopentiophenone), also known as Flakka, inside the vehicle, packaged with the intent to sell. Located within reach of the driver, Alexander Nix, TPD officers located a loaded 9mm handgun.
Mr. Nix is a Florida Convicted Felon and was arrested for the firearm and drugs located in his possession. The firearm and drugs were impounded at the Tallahassee Police Department as evidence. Mr. Nix is currently in the Leon County Jail. For further details, the probable cause affidavit is attached to this release and has been redacted in accordance with Florida Statute 119.07(2)(e) & 119.071(5)(a).

Possession of a Synthetic Narcotic With the Intent to Sell pursuant to Florida Statute 893.13(1)(a)1.
Possession of Marijuana With the Intent to Sell pursuant to Florida Statute 893.13(1)(a)2.
