69th Citizen's Police Academy

The Tallahassee Police Department announces the 69th Citizens’ Police Academy (CPA) beginning September 18th. The CPA is an information process where citizens learn more about the inner-workings of TPD while participating in several police related activities. There is no associated cost for participants.
CPA class members will receive information, instruction, and demonstrations in police use of force, narcotics enforcement, gang response and traffic issues just to name a few. The class will receive presentations from the Special Response Team, K-9, Special Operations, Criminal Investigations, Forensics, and much more. Class members will have the option to participate in a police-ride-along on a patrol shift and visit the Florida Public Safety Institute for a TAC Team and weapons demonstration during the program.
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must provide the information necessary for a criminal background check
- Must work or live in the Tallahassee/Leon County area
- Must be able to commit to attending all classes.
