TPD Arrests Two Juveniles in a Stolen Vehicle and in Possession of Several Firearms
September 25, 2018
The Tallahassee Police Department works diligently to prevent crimes and locate suspects involved in criminal activity. Early this morning, TPD patrol officers located a vehicle previously reported stolen, being driven in the area of Meridian Road and Henderson Road. Patrol officers attempted a traffic stop and the vehicle fled from the area away from the officers. With the assistance of the Leon County Sheriff’s Office helicopter, the vehicle was located in the area of 401 Putnam Drive where the occupants left the vehicle and ran into the woods. Continuing to follow the suspects, officers located the suspects in the immediate area. One of the suspects was located in the woods between South Meridian Road and Putnam Drive and the other suspect was located under a home in the 2500 block of South Meridian Street. During the thorough investigation of the stolen vehicle and arrest of the two suspects, six guns were located.
The suspects were transported to the Juvenile Assessment Center (JAC) for processing and each charged with several felony crimes to include Grand Theft Motor Vehicle, Grand Theft of a Firearm, and other charges. The guns found during the investigation were impounded for safekeeping and further investigation.
The case has been assigned to the Property Crimes Task Force for additional follow up.
