TPD Makes Arrest for Possession of Drugs and a Stolen Firearm

Tallahassee Police officers discovered a man sleeping in a parked car with the engine running early Saturday morning, November 17, 2018 at 2849 Apalachee Parkway at the Circle K. Officers were dispatched to the area to check on the welfare of the man inside the vehicle. When they made contact with the man, later identified as Reginald Watkins, he was asleep behind the wheel of the car. Officers observed evidence of illegal drug activity inside the vehicle and developed probable cause to search the vehicle. An on scene investigation was conducted and officers located cocaine, marijuana, synthetic cannabinoids and a stolen 9mm firearm from a Wakulla County criminal case inside the vehicle.
The firearm and drugs were impounded at the Tallahassee Police Department. Mr. Watkins was transported to the Leon County Detention Facility for processing.
