Registration Now Open for Annual Capital City Senior Games
Friendly Competitions Help Keep Tallahassee's Senior Population Active

This year, more than 500 seniors are expected to compete in the 10th annual Capital City Senior Games. The Senior Games, which take place March 1-11, aim to keep Tallahassee's senior population active and healthy. Registration for the games, which feature friendly competitions designed for all fitness levels, is now open at Talgov.com.
Presented by Tallahassee Senior Services and the City of Tallahassee's Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Affairs (PRNA) Department, this year's games will feature two new events, racquetball and water aerobics. These new events will join the lineup from years past, which include archery, bag toss, basketball, bowling, cycling, golf, horseshoes, pickleball, power lifting, swimming, table tennis, tennis, track and field and a one-mile fun run/walk. Participants will have the opportunity to compete in singles, doubles and mixed doubles for bowling and pickleball, along with doubles and mixed doubles for tennis.
Seniors 50 years and older who want to participate in the Capital City Senior Games can sign up by mail, in person or online. Online registration is available at Talgov.com/Seniors. Registration forms are available for pick up at the Tallahassee Senior Center, located at 1400 N. Monroe Street, and at the PRNA office, located at 912 Myers Park Drive. Completed registration forms can be mailed to or dropped off at both of these locations.
Registration begins at $15 for one event and includes a T-Shirt and dinner ticket to the Celebration of Athletes event scheduled for Monday, March 11, at 5:30 p.m. at the Senior Center. Registration for each additional event will cost $3. Venue fees apply for some events (check registration form). The Capital City Senior Games is presented in partnership with Audiology Associates of North Florida, Capital Health Plan, Friends of Our Parks, Leon County Government, Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare, Tallahassee Senior Center and Foundation and Visit Tallahassee.
The Senior Games are certified by the Florida Sports Foundation and give local athletes a chance to qualify for the Florida Senior Games State Championships and the National Senior Games.
