Operation Safe Neighborhoods Program Begins This Month
June 13, 2019
This summer, the Tallahassee Police Department (TPD) is inviting you and your neighbors to walk the block as part of Operation Safe Neighborhoods. This program promotes public safety by organizing community walks through Tallahassee’s neighborhoods. From 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2019 and Thursday, July 25, 2019, police officers and City leaders will join residents and community groups as they go door-to-door in neighborhoods throughout the city to hand out important safety information.
Below is a list of upcoming Operation Safe Neighborhoods events.
- June 20, 2019 – Greater Bond Neighborhood starting at Greater Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church – 1819 Saxon Street.
- July 25, 2019 – Griffin Heights Neighborhood starting at Griffin Chapel Primitive Baptist Church – 1100 Richmond Street.
Operation Safe Neighborhoods is designed to empower residents and help deter acts of violence by having police officers on the streets working with neighbors, to bring awareness to issues affecting citizens of Tallahassee and create a spirit of cooperation among all residents joining together in a stand against crime in our community. Working together, we can make Tallahassee better.
