TPD Arrests Three People for Drug Sales in the Community
July 18, 2019
The Tallahassee Police Department'’'s Special Investigations Section works on a continuous basis to deter street level drug sales in our city. Investigators with the General Narcotics Unit and Drug Interdiction Unit, which comprise the Special Investigations Section, recently received numerous citizen complaints regarding “open air” drug sales in various areas of the community. Working in cooperation with members of TPD’s Community Oriented Policing and Problem Solving Squad, an operation was conducted Wednesday to deter criminal activity stemming from the drug sales and alleviate the quality of life issues being reported by citizens. Three people were arrested for the sale of cocaine and were transported to the Leon County Detention Facility for processing.
The Tallahassee Police Department strives to address all citizen complaints regarding crime and quality of life. The arrests made during the operation helped deter further criminal activity and officers will continue to monitor the areas. TPD encourages all citizens to work together with us to prevent crime in our community by notifying us when they observe activity which can lead to crime.
