City Commission to hold Budget Workshop

The Tallahassee City Commission will hold a workshop on Wednesday, Feb. 19, at 1 p.m. in the City Commission Chambers, second floor, City Hall, 300 South Adams Street.
The workshop will focus on the Fiscal Year 2020 (FY20) First Quarter Update. The quarterly budget update serves to increase transparency and community involvement in the budget process, while providing dedicated time for the City Commission to discuss the status of the prior quarter, issues affecting the remainder of the fiscal year and assumptions impacting the preparation of the next fiscal year budget.
Information about the City’s financials is available through OpenGov and the City’s online budget, both accessible through Talgov.com.
The City continues to be committed to frequent, open and transparent communication with the community regarding the status of the current budget and development of the FY21 budget, offering ample opportunities for public input. The schedule of upcoming budget meetings is as follows:
- February 19: FY20 First Quarter Update
- April 8: FY21 – FY25 Capital Improvement Plan Discussion
- May 13: FY20 Second Quarter Budget Update Workshop
- June 3: FY21 Budget Plan (Proposed Budget)
- July 8: FY20 Third Quarter Budget Update and FY21 Tentative Millage Plan Workshop
- September 9: FY21 First Public Hearing and Approval
- September 23: FY21 Final Budget Public Hearing and Approval
