Update - Barricaded Subject on Columbia Drive
March 10, 2020
Update - 4:00pm
Investigators with TPD’s Special Victim’s Unit arrived at suspect’s residence to conduct an investigation into the allegation of child pornography. During their investigation, the suspect locked himself in his apartment. Probable cause was developed by investigators and arrest and search warrants were written and signed by a judge.
After attempting to negotiate a surrender for several hours with no response, members of TPD’s TAC Team breached the door and searched the residence with a remote-controlled robot. They found the suspect deceased inside the residence from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Deceased: Myron Clark, aged 62
Original Release
The Tallahassee Police Department is currently attempting to negotiate a barricaded subject out of his townhouse in the 200 block of Columbia Drive. At approximately 11:00am TPD members attempted to make contact with the subject to conduct an investigation and he retreated into his home and refused to come out.
It is believed at this time the subject has access to firearms, so for safety’s sake, members of TPD Tactical Apprehension and Control Team were called to the scene to conduct the negotiations. Due to TPD’s participation in the US Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force, the Marshals are on scene as well.
Columbia Drive is currently closed and Motorists are advised to avoid the area until the roadway reopens.
