Updated: TPD Investigates Shooting Incident

After an investigation, TPD has charged Keith Elmo, 23, with Aggravated Battery with Deadly Weapon in the shooting of the victim.
The suspect, the suspect’s girlfriend, and the victim were all in a residence in the 500 block of West Sixth Ave when the suspect and victim got into a fight. During the fight, the suspect retrieved his handgun and shot the victim.
After the shooting, the suspect fled to the 2200 block of Tanglewood Terrace, where he was apprehended.

Shortly before 2:30 a.m. today, the Tallahassee Police Department responded to the 1300 block of Branch Street in reference to a person who had been shot.
The victim is an adult male and was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.
This is an active investigation and there is no further information to release at this time.
Tallahassee Police Investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident, but did not speak with an officer on scene, or anyone with information about the shooting to please call 850-891-4200. They may also remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 850-574-TIPS.
