TPD Patrol Bureau Arrests Two Burglary Suspects in Unrelated Incidents

Patrol officers responding to burglaries yesterday afternoon and early this morning were successful in apprehending suspects in two incidents.
The first incident occurred at 5:45pm yesterday, May 14th, 2020, in the 1700 block of Bisque Court. Officers responded to a Burglary in progress and arrived to find the suspect pushing a cart containing a bunk bed. It was determined the suspect entered a residence nearby through a broken back door and removed the piece of furniture. He was in the process of leaving the scene when he was apprehended.

The second incident occurred at 2:30am today in the 1900 block of Karen Lane. The victim called and said she had heard a noise coming from the driveway, which attracted her attention. She then saw an individual in her vehicle who left on foot. Responding officers arrived quickly and observed the suspect, still on Karen Lane, walking away from the crime scene. As officers attempted to get out with him, he fled on foot. In an attempt to escape, he climbed the fence surrounding SAIL High School and fled across the campus. He was taken into custody while still on SAIL property. During his flight, he threw a fanny pack away in view of the pursuing officers, which was recovered after his arrest.
Inside the fanny pack, officers located property belonging to the vehicle owner as well as suspected synthetic cannabinoids. In addition, he had two warrants out for his arrest for violations of probation.
