The Tallahassee Police Department respects the important role that a Grand Jury plays in the judicial process. This week, in accordance with the law, the Grand Jury for Florida’s Second Judicial Circuit reviewed the three TPD officer involved shootings that occurred earlier this year.
Today, the Grand Jury, which is comprised of local citizens, returned presentments on these incidents. In each, the Grand Jury gave a No True Bill. This indicates that the Grand Jury found that officers acted in accordance with State Statutes.
“I’d like to thank the Grand Jury for its service. These citizens provided a valuable service to our community, and I hope that its findings today can help us begin to heal,” Chief Lawrence Revell said.
Updated incident reports for the above can be viewed on the TPD Public Records page.
