Welaunee Arch Master Plan Charrettes: Summary of Input
Two Additional Virtual Workshops Scheduled for September 15 and 17
September 14, 2020
The Welaunee Arch is the area of land generally located between Miccosukee Road and Robert Road and between Centerville Road and Crump Road. This is privately owned property and is the subject of a proposed Comprehensive Plan amendment. The proposed Master Plan for the Welanuee Arch generally outlines how the property will be developed over time, how urban services will be provided to the property, and what services and amenities will be provided to the public. The Master Plan is the first step in the development process. The Master Plan provides the broad parameters for how the property may be developed. Before development occurs, the Master Plan will need to be followed with a more detailed Planned Unit Development (PUD). The PUD would then be followed by even more detailed site plans.
At the Transmittal Hearing on May 26 for the proposed Comprehensive Plan amendment, the City Commission and Board of County Commissioners voted to submit the proposed amendment to the State for review and directed staff to hold virtual charrettes and in-person charrettes. Staff hosted 11 live video conferences and a self-paced virtual workshop with pre-recorded videos. View the recorded workshops on City's YouTube channel.
Based on input received through the charrettes and the technical assistance comments from the State Land Planning Agency and review agencies, the Welaunee Arch Master Plan portion of the Welaunee Critical Area Plan was updated with proposed edits. The following documents summarize the input received through the charrettes and demonstrates how the Master Plan was updated based this input.
Additional feedback on the Master Plan can be submitted online though the Welaunee Arch Master Plan Feedback form.
Virtual Video Workshop
In addition to the input form above, two video workshops are scheduled to provide an overview of proposed edits to the Welaunee Arch Master Plan. Please use the links below to register for one or both of these workshops.
